A digital wellbeing app that replaces the urge to scroll with a moment of remembrance.
Google Play
The problem
Screen-time limits are easy to dismiss because nothing replaces the habit. Niyyah keeps every app available but asks for a short act of remembrance first, so blocking has to be reliable and the unlock has to feel calm.

How it works
- 1
Detect
A native service notices when a chosen app opens, a time limit ends or a scheduled task begins.
- 2
Interrupt
A full-screen lock appears over the app before the feed can load.
- 3
Complete
Count your dhikr, read the chosen ayahs or type one of the 99 Names.
- 4
Unlock
The task is checked, progress is saved and the app opens.
Engineering decisions
System-level blocking
A custom Android foreground service in Kotlin, and Screen Time with Shield extensions on iOS.
A matcher built for Arabic
Diacritics and spelling variants are normalised, so typed Arabic is checked fairly against the expected text.
Progress stays on the device
Tasks and progress are stored locally. Sign-in is optional.
Ten languages, two directions
The whole interface works left to right and right to left, including Arabic and Urdu.
